We have an even bigger love that we want to share — love for the community we serve. So, it made a lot of sense to bring these two passions together. We whip up recipes from around the world, mix in some family favorites, and every dollar we make goes right back into Bissell’s crucial programs for supporting the vulnerable population of Edmonton to move out of poverty. So, every meal isn’t just a feast — it’s a feast with a purpose!

Prasanna Peddireddy

Manager of Food Services

With over 15 years of crafting unforgettable culinary experiences, Prasanna’s journey has spanned from hotels and restaurants to the high seas of cruise ships. His skills were refined in Italy, where he had the privilege of working alongside some of the world’s finest chefs.

Prasanna’s passion for food began on a small farm in India, where he first cooked family meals to support his loved ones. Inspired by his family’s recipes and the rich culinary traditions of his community, he set out to master his craft. His curiosity led him to explore and learn from neighbors and friends, shaping his unique approach to cooking.

This spirit of exploration and growth has guided Prasanna throughout his career, from five-star establishments in India to global adventures on cruise ships. When he arrived in Edmonton, he instantly fell in love with the city and found a new passion at Bissell Centre’s Food Services, quickly rising to lead all food operations. His dedication to addressing food insecurity has earned him back-to-back Janet Hughes awards from the Edmonton Food Bank.

Kulanand Dhyani

Head Chef, Food Services

Kulanand’s culinary journey began in 2002 when he earned his diploma from ITI Nizamuddin in Delhi, India. Fresh out of school, he embarked on his career with the prestigious Oberoi Group of hotels and resorts, where he laid the groundwork for his craft.

Just four years after graduating, Kulanand earned the position of Chef de Partie at the JP Mussoorie Hotel and subsequently managing culinary operations at RK Hospital — one of the city’s largest health care facilities, in New Delhi. These roles honed his skills in creating exquisite dishes and managing high-stakes kitchen environments. His quest for flavor then took him to Cyprus, where he delved into Mediterranean cuisine at the Kohi-Noor Hotel.

In 2010, Kulanand made his way to Canada, bringing his expertise to prestigious restaurants and hotels across the country as a Sous Chef. He joined Bissell Centre in 2023 as Head Chef, Food Services, where he continues to push culinary boundaries and explore new flavors. Kulanand’s commitment to innovation and his love for food drive him to create memorable experiences that delight and inspire.
